John Tarabula, DVM
Dr. John Tarabula opened the Animal Medical Center, now the Animal Medical & Surgical Center, in 1988. Dr. John received Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Georgia. He continued his veterinary education at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. He then moved to Jacksonville, Florida and worked in general veterinary practice and emergency medicine before moving back home to Georgia and opening the Animal Medical Center.
Dr. John’s professional interests include veterinary surgery, pet dentistry, birds, and exotics. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association, Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, and the Association of Feline Practitioners.
When he's not busy at the hospital, Dr. John enjoys playing tennis, spending time at the lake, and taking care of his dogs, ostrich, llamas, sheep, peacocks, chickens, turkeys, and fish. Dr. John lives in the Sutallee community with his wife Cindy. They have a son in college and two daughters who also live in Cherokee County.
